Before you can access your seller account, Amazon’ll ask you to submit new credit card details if your credit card has expired or been denied. You can add a new credit card or you can add a new credit card or update credit card information on an existing one. If your credit card information is incorrect, the card may be refused. This could result in a payment delay.
Update credit card information in seller account
Note: Any new credit card information can take up to 48 hours for Amazon to update your seller account.
Important: You may be sent to a financial institution to confirm your card with a security challenge before being sent back to Amazon. For each card you supply to Amazon and each retailer you desire to sell in, a different security challenge may be presented to verify that you are the cardholder. Go to Seller credit card FAQ for information regarding difficulty with card verification.
To update the credit card details in your seller account, follow these steps:
- Go to Settings and select Account Info
- Select Charge Methods from the Payment Information.
- Select the store where you want to assign a new charge method and click Replace Charge Method for the credit card you want to replace.
- Choose between adding a new credit card and selecting a card that is already in Seller Central. Fill in the blanks exactly as they appear on your credit card statement.
Not on add a new credit card
You may be prompted to validate your card and complete a security challenge when you enter a new card or change your details for an existing card. Amazon may also request authorization from your financial institution for a charge of up to $1.00; Amazon will not make the transaction. They’ll finish the authorization procedure for all of the establishments where you’ve signed up to sell. If you have one card for your Amazon.com seller account and an exception card for your Amazon.ca seller account, when you update either one, both cards will be authorized for up to USD $1. The authorization may or may not appear as a pending charge, depending on your credit institution. The authorization should display on your credit card statement in 3-5 business days, depending on the policies of your bank institution.
